IBC2026 Updates:
- Introduction of the Better Stands initiative - IBC trialled this at the show in 2025 with a plan to implement the full initiative in 2026. Details on the Better Stands initiative is available here - Better Stands: Moving Towards Reusable Stands Together. All space only stand types will be assessed via the 10 point criteria Better Stands uses. The details required will be captured via the Stand Plan Submission process. Fees apply.
- Stand Walling (updated 3 March 2026) - No full side of a stand perimeter can be completely closed, unless this directly boarders a neighbouring stand. Stand walls under 6m in length, on the perimeter of any open side, must be built with at least one third remaining open (no slatted and/or glass walls, etc). Walls over 6m in length require at least a 2m wide gap. Full description of the rules available here.
- Separation Walls (updated 25 May 2026) - rules regrading finishing back walls over 2.5m have been revised. See Space Only Build Rules and Double Decker Build Rules.
- We will continue to review the Balcony Suite packages following last year's changes.
- Content Everywhere Shell Scheme Floor Update (2026) - IBC are phasing out the use of raised platforms floors across all Content Everywhere shell scheme stands. Some shell stands, including CE shell, may require a raised floor to cover any mains power cables, which IBC will provide. Exhibitors will be made aware if their stand requires a raised floor.
-
Fines/penalties for late construction/completion of stands - All Stands must complete their technical set up by the end of Thursday 10 September. There is limited time for testing/final checks before the show opens on Friday 11 September. Any stand not having finished set up will be fined and risks fines/penalties if this causes any delays to Show Opening at 10:30am Friday 11 September:
- Space only stands/Stand builders - A reminder that stand construction must be completed by the end of Wednesday 09 September. Any stand not having finished construction on Wednesday 09 September will be fined and risk further penalties if the delays cause any issues on Technical Setup Day (Thursday 10 September) or Show Opening (Friday 11 September).
-
Double Decker stands and live edge working - all double decker stand plans must be submitted and approved before the deadlines. Any plans submitted late risk not having approval to build a double decker structure.
- Live edge working plans must be included into stand plan submission and any unsafe live edge work will risk fines/penalties and stand builders being removed from the halls.
- Early Access charges and booking - we are reviewing the early access booking process and restructuring the fees charges.
- Smoke/hazer machines - Hall 12 - Smoke and hazer machines are only permitted to be used in Hall 12. Use of smoke/hazer machine is only allowed once a permit has been issued by the RAI. There is a fee for this permit and further details will be available in the E-Zone. Smoke and hazer machines won't be permitted in any other halls.
- Rigging to support ground structures (updated 3 March 2026) - no rigging can be used to support any ground-based structure unless this is a) included into your stand plans and b) the stand is considered 'complex' and will need to submit additional information/calculations and have a structural review. Additional fees will apply. Stands found to be rigging ground-based structure without the complex review and fees paid will risk fines/penalties.
- Electric Pallet Trucks (EPTs) and other powered lifting equipment - all powered lifting equipment must supplied by CEVA. Any stand builder/exhibitors using their own powered lifting equipment, no supplied by CEVA, risk fines, penalties and confiscation of their equipment.
