Important Update: Changes to Balcony Suite Stand Options for 2025
We are introducing important changes to the Balcony Suite stand options for the 2025 event. These updates are designed to improve logistics, enhance safety, reduce environmental impact, and ensure a smoother build-up process.
Key Changes to Balcony Suite Stands:
1. Shell Scheme Balcony Suites Only
- Hall 1 Balcony Suites are built by the RAI, which will be offering an improved modular build option for exhibitors choosing the shell scheme.
- Going forward, only shell scheme balcony suites will be offered. We are no longer offering space-only balcony suites as an option.
- Any new exhibitors must select the shell scheme build option for their balcony suite.
2. Space-Only Builds in 2025
- Exhibitors who had a space-only balcony suite in 2024 may continue with a space-only build in 2025— however, this must be from a modular system (similar to the shell scheme) and not built using fresh wood (single-use, disposable stand construction).
If you wish to construct a wooden stand, it must meet the following criteria:
- Pre-constructed sections
- No cutting or sanding on-site
- The stand sections must be palletised and able to be forklifted or manually carried onto the balcony
Why these changes?
These updates are being implemented to improve various aspects of the event:
- Improved Logistics for Building Stands and Loading/Unloading - The new system will make it easier to build and move palletised items onto the balcony. This change will streamline the overall process and reduce delays during the build-up.
- Minimizing Dust Contamination - In the past, space-only balcony suites were often built from fresh wood that required filling and sanding. This created dust that fell onto finished stands in Hall 1. By switching to modular systems for space-only builds, we will help reduce dust spread and ensure cleaner working conditions for all exhibitors.
- Improved Safety - By reducing the number of space-only builds and shortening the unloading/loading times, we aim to create a safer environment for CEVA operators and exhibitors. A more standardised build process will contribute to safer logistics during the build-up.
- Sustainability - One of the driving forces behind this change is our commitment to sustainability. Moving toward modular, reusable systems for stand builds reduces reliance on single-use, disposable materials like wood, contributing to a greener, more sustainable event.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these changes. If you have any questions or need clarification, please reach out to support@ibc.org. We look forward to making the 2025 event even more successful for everyone involved.
